This blog chronicles the life and times of 8 high school (and before) friends who beyond all odds are still friends even though they're at different colleges across the United States.

Easter Break, Part II

Here are the rest of the pictures that it wouldn't let me post the other night. Hope you enjoy them!

This is Derek and me when we first arrived at Downtown Disney. This picture was taken right next to the bathrooms.

This is Derek and Mark in the water. They seem slightly confused.

Here, Derek is poking at a horseshoe crab which were out in abundance when we went to the park.

I was informed that this was a "guy picture" and that I had to take the picture.

This was our lunch outing to Checkers. I just thought this was a funny picture.

We're in the car on the way to the Ellenton Outlets here. I wasn't upset...I just look it. Then again, so does Derek.

We went to the beach...

However, there was really no parking within like 3 miles of the beach, so we kept driving and this is what we found...another beach!

I don't really know...

Hope you're having a great week! It's halfway through!

Easter Break, Part I

So, my computer won't let me upload any more pictures in this post, so we're just going to look at these, and then I'll put more up in the next post.

This was us at Downtown Disney. We wanted a suntan, so we decided to sit in front of the Lego store and get some sun. Well, it was too hot for that to last, but this was in the middle of the five minutes we actually sat there for.

This is Derek and me in our picture spot. We have had our picture taken here every time we've been to Downtown Disney together.

So, at Downtown Disney, we walked into the Christmas store (which is my favorite) and they had this little photo opportunity. Although I must say that having on shorts kind of ruins the feel of a fireplace.

This is the two of them being weird.

This is us on the way back from Orlando. We're such a happy bunch.

We took Mark to the pier. However, it was humid and hot and buggy (which is basically just normal Florida weather) so we didn't stay there for long.

This is us at Philippe Park. Just being our normal unusual selves.

I don't really know what they're doing. So, I'm not going to comment.

Mhmm...yep...still don't know.

Enjoy your week! More pictures to come soon!

spring break, part 2, and other such adventures

So, what would spring break be without at least a couple family gatherings and rousing games of Deal or No Deal?? Hence the following pictures. Who knew these online games could be so exciting?? And of course, no nine days away from school would be complete without a family member's birthday party, and ours was Aunt Mary's!

Dad and Granddaddy watching this rousing game that Derek and Tina have going on in the picture below.

Papaw, Mamaw and of course, Greg at Aunt Mary's birthday party. Below is Marissa, Jack, Aunt Mary and Uncle Al.
Apart from Spring Break, Mark arrives tomorrow, in the middle of our nursing home ministry actually, but that's okay. Derek got his new phone today, well, sort of. It will be here tomorrow pending the arrival of Mark. Only 23 more days of school from today. What a blessing. Every education major is swamped under a pile of portfolios, profiles, papers, presentations and other such things that takes up every minute of their free time. Thursday marks the beginning of Easter Break, otherwise known as four glorious days off of school, even though I still have homework to do during this time. Those four days are packed with plans of Orlando, outlet shopping, and 90 degree sunshiney weather. Anyways, I'm off to go study and such. Hope you enjoyed your Tuesday!

27

hey everybody! 27 days left till graduation! I'm so excited! I still havent exactlly figured out where I am going to work or go to school after that or where I'm going to live. I have a few ideas but I havent made up my mind yet. I was going to get an apartment and live on my own and actually found a townhouse I could afford but think I've decided against that for now. I decided I'm going to make a decision this weekend and stick with it so pray for that if you think of it. It's a big decision to make! I think I might go outside my "comfort zone." We'll see. A friend of mine from school is trying to talk me into moving to the Virgin Islands with her and her fiance but I dont think thats going to happen! I told her to go and I'll come visit all the time! And a guy from my class is trying to talk me into going to Florida with him during our break but that probably wont happen either. Although I could go for some warmer weather.

All sorts of stuff has been going on over here. Some good, some bad. I'll spare you the details. Knowing that God is soveregin has gotten me through the last couple months. It's comforting to know that God is in control of everything and has perfect timing. And even when everything else in my life feels out of control it's good to know that there is one thing that never changes and there is one person I can put my trust in who will never let me down.

My "field trip" to Lansing was... interesting. I got to be the designated driver after everyone else got drunk, which was a new experience for me! Especially if you know about my wonderful city driving skills and my great sense of direction. I got some good information about some hospitals/home care places and some schools so at least something good came out of it. It was a nice change of pace from the usual class room and hospital routine. My current rotation is in the ICU and is so depressing! It seems like our patients are going down hill and dying right and left. Hopefully not from anyting we've done! I walked into this one room and looked at this patient and one of our students who was in there said yeah... she's been dead for a few hours. That was kinda creapy! If only her poor roomate knew she'd been laying next to a dead lady the past 3 hours.

Anyway... have a good weekend!!!!!

Spring break!

So, here are the long awaited pictures from spring break. They're in a random order, so you'll just have to rely on the descriptions to figure it all out.

This is Derek's mom and the grandchildren under the table singing the "Where is Thumbkin" song. Well, some of them are singing it.

This is Derek and Mark on the day after we got back. I was baking cookies. If you look closely between the two, you can see my eyeball.

This is field trip day. We were chaperones! How weird is that? Anyways, this is on the car on the way up there.

This is the day that the tooth came out. Mark and I fed Derek chicken noodle soup. He later went on to eat sweet and sour pork that day.

This is when we were at the Jiffy factory. This was after an extremely long and boring video about the history of it or something like that. I don't remember watching that as a kid, but if we did, I was probably pretty bored considering I was bored now as an adult. Oh, and I think they've had the same chairs since they opened.

This was the Jiffy Factory. As if you couldn't tell from the picture.

This is us holding our Jiffy boxes. They were fake because the ones they gave us weren't that big. Notice the hair nets. They were quite the fashion statement.

So, I was going to also include pictures of family gatherings. However, for some reason, the pictures won't upload. So, that will have to be a later post. Have a great week!
