Barker tagged me

Barker tagged me and I put this up on my blog on myspace last week but since Amanda posted hers on here I thought I'd post mine too:

I've been tagged to answer this One Book Meme

1. One book that changed your life: That's an easy one, the Bible. It changed every aspect of my life and future.

2. One book that you've read more than once: The only one that comes to mind right now is These Strange Ashes by Elisabeth Elliot, which I am currently rereading for the second or third time.

3. One book you'd want on a desert island: The Bible. I know, not very origional but it's the truth!

4. One book that made you laugh: Goodnight Moon.

5. One book that made you cry: The first time I read the Diary of Anne Frank when I was 16.

6. One book you wish had been written: I'll keep Barker's answer: Dangerous Awkward Natural: The Unauthorized Biography of Dan Barker... lol... write it Barker and I'll read it :)

7. One book you wish had never been written: Again I've got to keep Barker's answer: The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne, not because it was such a bad book, but because I had to write a 6-8 page research paper. That's 6 months of my life i'd like back!

8. One book you're currently reading: The Journals of Jim Elliot by Elisabeth Elliot, These Strange Ashes also by Elisabeth Elliot, Don't Waste Your Life by John Piper, Pediatric Nursing: Made Incredibly Easy, Proverbs... who reads just one book at a time anyway?

9. One book you've been meaning to read: Every book written by Elisabeth Elliot... I've got a long way to go.

10. Tag 5 others: Eric, Bryan, Julie, Jen, and David.

Ahh...the book meme

I've been tagged by Barker to answer this One Book Meme

1. One book that changed your life: I know this sounds really stupid, but any of the Baby Sitters Club books cause those were the books that I read when I was younger and developed a love of reading in me.

2. One book that you've read more than once: I have to honestly say that I don't think I've ever read any book more than once...I prefer to move on to other things.

3. One book you'd want on a desert island: The Westing Game...it's a children's book...and it was very interesting...it was just kinda short....so if there was a longer version of it, I'd pick that.

4. One book that made you laugh: The Devil Wears Prada...it's actually just the last thing I've read, and I think it made me laugh, but I can't remember...

5. One book that made you cry: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince by J. K. Rowling (was that the last one? If it wasn't, I really mean the last one)...but also most anything by Nicholas Sparks as well

6. One book you wish had been written: How to cure the snoring habits of people.

7. One book you wish had never been written: The DaVinci code...not because I've ever read it, but rather because my classes are forcing me to read books about it and the responses to it...

8. One book you're currently reading: Currently, nothing but textbooks...oh..no...Im reading The Five Love Languages (but I'm only on like chapter 2)

9. One book you've been meaning to read: Brian's Winter by Gary Paulsen (it comes after Hatchet)

10. Tag 5 others: Mark, Derek, Swift, Julie...and I don't think anyone else that read this would do it...

Barker's Surprise Party, Part I

For Barker's 21st birthday, we thought it would be fun to surprise him with a little party which included blindfolding him when he stepped in the door and taking him in the car to Heritage Park and having pizza and fruit and melted cupcakes...
The look of shock when we took off the blindfold...

All of us who were there...trying to take a picture with the camera on top of a car

Sunday, August 20, 2006

So, in an effort to redeem myself, I"m posting the pictures from the summer. But, as a quick update, I am back at Clearwater, and Thanksgiving break is in 89 days. I'm not on campus yet...I won't be staying there until Tuesday, but the hotel has free internet, and so I'm posting these from the hotel. Anyways, I hope you all have a good trip back to each of your colleges and a good first day of school!

kanoeing the kazoo

So I was telling Eric about how I wanted to kanoe the kazoo but nobody else wanted to. He told me it's the same zoo that lets you pet and feed the giraffes!! Eric said he'd take me and Barker there this fall and then maybe you won't have to hear me talk about it anymore ;).

Info for Saturday

I called Full Blast today and there are mens and womens locker rooms with lockers inside for use, and it also gives us a place to change before we leave. We can bring our own locks, or we can buy them for like $9. There's also lockers somewhere else that we can rent for $5 with a $3 refund when we return the key. I think these lockers are in a more central location so it's not in a male or female locker room. So, therefore if we can stuff all of our junk in 1 locker then it's just a little over 25 cents a person. When we enter, they give us wristbands, so we can re-enter the park if we have to leave it. So, next thing is that we will probably want to stop for dinner when we leave, so instead of paying for lunch, would we rather all pack a lunch and take it in the cooler? We can exit the park to eat, and we can just eat in the van (we can't bring it into the park), and then we can go back in.

Next, remember that it's $16.00 to enter, and also remember money for gas and money for dinner.
Also don't forget a towel, tennis shoes, flip flops and a change of clothes.
I just plan on wearing my bathing suit with clothes over it and some flip flops so I don't have to change when I get there.

Don't forget to let me know about the lunch thing!
